How Apex Day Rehabilitation Centre For Elderly (ADRC) Started

Apex Day Rehabilitation Centre For Elderly started as a pilot project by the National Council Of Social Services in 1980. The project was adopted by the Association of Apex Clubs of Singapore who helped to raise funds to set up the Centre. Sisters from the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary assisted and are currently managing the day to day running of the Centre.

The Centre started with providing day care services to the frail and disabled elderly living in the estate around Bukit Merah. With continuing support from both the government and many generous benefactors and volunteers, the Centre expanded to include rehabilitation services as there were demands from elderly for rehabilitation services. Hence, the rehabilitation centre was established on 26 November 1993.

Apex Day Rehabilitation Centre was the first Day Care Centre to be set up in 1981.
